The Role Of Nursing

The nursing profession, although basically the same premise, differs widely in each country. What duties a Registered Nurse can perform in the UK are not the same duties they can perform in Canada, the US or even countries like Japan or Australia. The duties a Registered Nurse can perform are based on governmental regulations for each country or area they work.
Titles and areas of specialty also vary within each country. But generally speaking there are nineteen recognized nurse specialties. Some of these specialties include Critical care training, Psychiatric and Mental Health training, Cardiovascular training, Emergency training, Oncology training, Medical-Surgical training, Community Health training,  Gerontology training, Orthopedic training, Neuroscience training and Rehabilitation training.

Each specialty training career requires different years of education, hands-on practice, area specific competencies and pertinent exams.

Qualified Nurses develop and implement complete plans for managing chronic disease care for patients. They treat complicated health conditions and assist in the transition from the hospital back into the community lessening the burden on the institutional load. Qualified nurses also train the community in health education and develop strategies to improve community overall health.

Qualified nurses also assess the new technology and research for patients to make sure it is not only relevant but beneficial, adjusting care plans accordingly.

There are plenty of Nursing Jobs available around the world. If a nurse wants to upgrade their credentials or even travel extensively, they should look into the country they wish to go to and check the level of nursing recognition. Nursing jobs are available in fields such as cardiac physiology jobs, Radiography Jobs and Occupational Therapy Jobs to name a few.
